While some details of back-to-school activities are still being finalized (and will be updated here as they are available), please keep in mind the following dates for back-to-school, fall 2019:

July 28 & August 11: Summer playdates for TPES families (new and old!)

August 29 (7 PM): Back-to-school night for KINDERGARTEN only (this event is designed for adults- come meet your child’s teacher and hear about what to expect from their year in kindergarten!)

August 30 (3-4 PM): Open House, all grades. Bring your child to meet their teacher and classmates!

September 3: FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL

September 5 (7 PM): Back-to-school night for FIRST and SECOND GRADES (this event is designed for adults)

Join the PTA and other TPES families for a summer playdate!

We hope everyone is having a great summer! With less than 2 months left until school starts again, we’d love to have TPES families (especially those with students new to the school) join us for one of two SUMMER PLAYDATES at the TPES playground on:
Sunday, July 28 from 10 AM – noon
or
Sunday, August 11 from 2 PM – 4 PM

Come see old friends and meet new ones before the start of the new school year. (And meet some current PTA officers and members, hear more about what the PTA does, and consider joining us!)

While this event is a great chance for rising kindergarteners and families new to TPES to come to the school and meet, all TPES students and families are welcome and encouraged to attend.

Blair Cluster + MCCPTA Info

Montgomery County Public Schools represent one of the largest, most influential school districts in the nation.  It is important for each school’s PTA to work with their counterparts throughout the county and as part of the larger Montgomery County Council of PTAs (MCCPTA).  In our area, we have the Blair Cluster, a group of 13 PTAs associated with Montgomery Blair High School and the elementary and middle schools that feed into the high school.  Below is a brief explanation of the various roles associated with the Blair Cluster and MCCPTA. Which Schools Are Part of the Blair Cluster?
The Blair Cluster of PTAs includes Montgomery Blair High School, three middle school feeders, Takoma Park, Eastern, and Silver Spring International; and nine elementary schools, Piney Branch, Takoma Park, Oak View. New Hampshire, Pine Crest, Montgomery Knolls, Sligo Creek, East Silver Spring, and Rolling Terrace.
What is the Role of a Cluster Coordinator and who are our Blair Cluster Coordinators?
Each cluster may have up to three coordinators.  For more information on the specific responsibilities of a cluster coordinator please see the pdf file posted at the bottom of this page. You may email Blair Cluster’s three representatives at: Shruti Bhatnagar, Bladimir Duenas, and Kathy Larin. 
 
What is the Role of a Cluster Representative?
Every local PTA has a cluster representative. You can find the name and contact information of your PTA Cluster Rep on your school’s PTA web site. For more information on the specific responsibilities of a cluster representative please see the pdf file posted at the bottom of this page.
