Before and After School Enrichment Program – Schedule Details

We are pleased to announce schedule details of the PTA’s Before and After School Enrichment program.

Classes will begin the week of Sept. 25 and end the week of Nov. 17.

Registration for fall begins 9/7/17.  We will email a registration link to this list serve and publish it on the PTA’s website.  Spanish translators will be available at Back to School Night to assist with registration.

Final pricing will be included in the registration system, but classes range from $110-$175 for the session. Scholarships are available on a limited basis to students who qualify for the free / reduced price meal program.   Please let us know if you are interested in sponsoring a scholarship student!

Fall Semester Enrichment Classes and Clubs – Registration Begins 9/7

We are excited to announce that enrichment classes and clubs for the fall semester will be offered September 25th through November 17th on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday afternoon and Tuesday and Thursday morning.  Specific enrichment program offerings and the full schedule will be announced in early September, but a few of the confirmed programs include Storybook Theatre, Karate, Running, Nature Science Lab, Basketball, and Yoga.

Limited scholarships will be available to those who need them as they have been in the past.

Blair Cluster & MCCPTA Info

Blair Cluster + MCCPTA Info

Montgomery County Public Schools represent one of the largest, most influential school districts in the nation.  It is important for each school’s PTA to work with their counterparts throughout the county and as part of the larger Montgomery County Council of PTAs (MCCPTA).  In our area, we have the Blair Cluster, a group of 13 PTAs associated with Montgomery Blair High School and the elementary and middle schools that feed into the high school.  Below is a brief explanation of the various roles associated with the Blair Cluster and MCCPTA. Scroll to the bottom of the page to see Blair Cluster newsletters, records of testimony, and other key documents.

Which Schools Are Part of the Blair Cluster?
The Blair Cluster of PTAs includes Montgomery Blair High School, three middle school feeders, Takoma Park, Eastern, and Silver Spring International; and nine elementary schools, Piney Branch, Takoma Park, Oak View. New Hampshire, Pine Crest, Montgomery Knolls, Sligo Creek, East Silver Spring, and Rolling Terrace.
What is the Role of a Cluster Coordinator and who are our Blair Cluster Coordinators?
Each cluster may have up to three coordinators.  For more information on the specific responsibilities of a cluster coordinator please see the pdf file posted at the bottom of this page. You may email Blair Cluster’s three representatives at: Shruti Bhatnagar, Bladimir Duenas, and Kathy Larin. 
 
What is the Role of a Cluster Representative?
Every local PTA has a cluster representative. You can find the name and contact information of your PTA Cluster Rep on your school’s PTA web site. For more information on the specific responsibilities of a cluster representative please see the pdf file posted at the bottom of this page.

Dear TPES Parents and Guardians,

On behalf of the Takoma Park Elementary School Parent Teachers Association (TPES PTA), we’d like to welcome new and returning students and their families as we gear up for the 2016-2017 school year.  As you may know, your PTA supports and enriches your children’s education with critical extracurricular activities. The PTA also provides opportunities for our vibrant, diverse community to come together and make lasting connections through social and fundraising events.

Last year, through financial and volunteer support, the PTA was able to provide:

  • Move More Sit Less! Campaign bringing physical activity into the classroom (and getting kids out of the classroom more often)

Together, we make a difference!

    • Join the PTA: Please join or renew your PTA membership for the 2016-2017 school year.
    • Donate your time:  There are many opportunities to volunteer your talents and energy— during school hours or at night—for large, ongoing jobs or one-time activities. If you are interested in volunteering, contact one of the PTA Executive Committee members listed below.
