Takoma Park Middle School Cluster Food Support
Thank you so much for supporting East Silver Spring and Takoma Park families at this time.
As you know, the closure of schools, businesses, and many other services has put a strain on all our families, but is particularly challenging for members of our community who are out of work or who previously relied on school meals. More than 30% of students who attend ESS, TPES, PBES, and TPMS receive free or reduced price meals, and many more are likely to need assistance at this time. We anticipate this need to grow as the pandemic continues.
The Parent Teacher Associations (PTAs) at East Silver Spring Elementary, Takoma Park Elementary, Piney Branch Elementary, and Takoma Park Middle School have come together to support vulnerable families in Takoma Park. We have established one place where anyone may make a tax deductible contribution and the funds will go to address the need of any family in our community, no matter their school affiliation.
We’re returning to shelf-stable food boxes for any family in need, no questions asked. To ensure we are connecting with families in need most effectively, we’re collaborating with area schools and the City of Takoma Park to spread the word. We hope you’ll support us in these efforts and reach out should you have any questions or concerns. To sign up to volunteer, please click here.
Finally, if you and your family are in need of food and groceries during this time, please email takomafood@gmail.com, with subject line: grocery, to get more information about how to receive support and food delivery for your family.
Thank you for your support and please spread the word!
