Quilt Portraits: My Life Matters

February 24, 2022 @ 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm

This program “Quilt Portraits: My Life Matters,” adapted for a virtual workshop delivery, is a facilitated arts integration program examining four of the guiding principles of the Black Lives Matter social movement and the national Black Lives Matter at School initiative. Students will be guided to think about the four principles (listed below) related to uplifting their lives and their community. They will be guided in making a layered paper “Quilt Portrait” and write a personal statement about why their life matters. The finished Quilt Portraits can be displayed in the home or as an exhibit in their school. More information can be found in the attached flyer and bios of the presenters.
